Mount Rushmore and Newcastle!!!

10 years since Diana died, and I nearly died this morning, though not murdered by Prince Phillip disguised as paparazzi on a moped, rather two dog/bear/beast like black furrrryyy animals on a dust track a mile away from the cabins we stayed in near Badlands. Got up at 7 for a run, but after spotting them from a distance and after watching their pretty fast gain on my position I decided I'd rather be alive than get into a game of human and beast. Thankfully the Mizuno wave riders and a full engine (two mars bars and a Gatorade the previous night) was sufficient.

Left Badlands early, and travelled to Mount Rushmore. 4 presidents, including Washington (the first) and Roosevelt carved into the side of a pretty big mountain. Argued to be the most patriotic place in America. Well, the Ranger just didn't love her job, she loved the United States of America. One comedy moment of note was when she was explaining how one of the Presidents had come to be President with just one year of formal education, then suggested "can you imagine a President coming to power today with just one year formal education. It just wouldn't happen" - which led to a few sniggers, not least from me. Though don't think the guy with the "God Save the USA" peak-cap was too impressed with me and the others who would it absolutely hilarious.

Here's the lassy anyway for your own amusement.

Also visited Windy Cave National Park in South Dakota, and then onto Wyoming (where there is absolutely nothing but open fields and spectacular scenery) where we went to a Rodeo in the (as the announcer frequently pointed out) CODY THE RODEO CAPITAL OF THE WWWWOOOORRRLLLLDDD. Must dash now though, so i'll just add a couple of photos and leave the rest to your imagination!

**We passed through Newcastle on the way to the Rodeo**

**A haunted town on the border of South Dakota and Wyoming**

** Dad can you airbrush the finger! Not got photoshop!**

**The Rodeo!**

**All I could think of was Borat and the Kazah national anthem. But there we were singing along to the great US one**
