Chicago (again!)

Heathrow to Chicago, 8 hours 30 minutes. Interesting start at Heathrow when bmi said that the flight had been cancelled (that was the one to Manchester, which was supposed to then get me on their flight to Chicago). But then good news when they said that they'd rebooked me on a direct flight straight to Chicago, which was extra special good news as that meant 5000 or so more air miles! By the end of the round the world trip that'll be enough for a first class upgrade I was told!

The view on landing at O'Hare. Strange to see both the Sears tower (tallest one to the right), and the John Hancock (Tallest to the left). Both of which I'd been to the top of last August ('07).

Just a quick 12 hour revisit, en route back out to Hawaii. Flight to Honolulu didn't leave til the following morning so made sense to pay another flying visit (quite literally...)

Decided to splash out before the end of luxury began so booked into the Ritz for a night...quite a place! Concierge found us a wonderful Italian restaurant, probably about as pricey as the hotel itself, but certainly nice. The waiter was beyond words, he sold us some $20 starter which was basically cheese, but it sounded so much better than just "cheese". Imported from the Italian deep south, the Mezzogiorno, with so much succulence that its hard to believe its cheese.

The Ritz - Chicago.

And the bathroom! Like no other for the next month or so

Took Carly up the John Hancock tower for a cheeky cocktail, before the jet lag claimed the both of us.

Taxi back to O'Hare in the morning & caught the flight onward to Honolulu. Longer than the flight to Chicago, so no surprise the jet lag caught right back up again after landing in Hawaii.
